Competitive Program
Our Competitive Program is designed for dancers who are committed to intensive training and artistic growth. Dancers train multiple times each week in a structured environment that emphasizes technical excellence, versatility, authentic movement, and performance quality.
Competitive teams attend approximately 3–4 competitions each season, depending on the team's age and level. In addition to competitions, dancers perform in our annual Year-End Showcase, community events, concept videos, workshops, and other special performance opportunities throughout the year.
This program is ideal for dancers who are eager to challenge themselves, push their limits, and continue growing both technically and artistically while proudly representing State of Motion throughout the competitive season.

Pre-Competitive Program
Our Pre-Competitive Program is designed for dancers who are ready to move beyond recreational classes and experience a more focused training environment while continuing to develop their technique, confidence, and performance skills.
Pre-Competitive dancers train twice a week and are expected to demonstrate the same level of commitment, dedication, and teamwork as our Competitive dancers. This program emphasizes strong technical foundations, musicality, stage presence, and personal growth while allowing dancers to build confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Depending on the growth, readiness, and overall development of the team throughout the season, Pre-Competitive dancers may attend one or two competitions. In some seasons, the primary focus may remain on training and performance preparation rather than competition. Our priority is ensuring that every dancer feels confident, prepared, and successful before stepping onto the competition stage.
Pre-Competitive is an excellent pathway for dancers who are committed to their training and excited to continue growing while preparing for future competitive opportunities.

Competitive vs. Pre-Competitive
At State of Motion, both our Competitive and Pre-Competitive Programs are designed for dancers who are passionate about learning, growing, and becoming part of a dedicated team environment. Regardless of the program, dancers are expected to demonstrate commitment, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and respect for their teammates and instructors.
Both programs provide high-quality training under the guidance of experienced industry professionals, with an emphasis on technical development, artistry, confidence, and performance quality. The primary difference between the two programs lies in the level of competition participation, difficulty level, and class pace.

Auditions & Placements
Entry into the Competitive Program is by audition only. Auditions allow our faculty to evaluate each dancer's current abilities, potential, attitude, work ethic, and readiness for the program. Previous competitive experience is not required—we welcome dancers who demonstrate passion, commitment, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Following auditions, every dancer is thoughtfully placed in the program where they will be challenged appropriately, experience success, and continue to grow throughout the season.
Training & Coaching
All competitive dancers train multiple times per week under the guidance of highly qualified instructors. Training schedules vary depending on the dancer's age, level, and team placement.. Our coaching team consists of professional dancers and choreographers who bring years of industry experience in both performance and instruction. This ensures that dancers receive not only outstanding technical training, but also mentorship rooted in real-world knowledge and artistic integrity.
